The client’s brief was to create a comfortable house year-round with exterior form and finishes that resemble that of sheering shed quarters.

The site, a large farm block with two hills (north & south of the site) presented unobstructed views to the south-west. The southern hill was selected as the location of the proposed dwelling as it favoured views to the north-west. The design proposal was a longilineal north facing home with high pitched roof and outdoor entertaining area to the west with proposed vertical batten screening to lessen the impact of the western sun whilst still being able to capture the views. The project is in design stage and currently undertaking passive house certification.
